Editor Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the publisher and commissioning editor with development and delivery of manuscripts.
  • Support the editor or project manager with administrative help.
  • Collaborate with the editor-in-chief to research and plan new articles.
  • Commission articles.
  • Liaise with team members (e.g. writers, reporters and photographers) ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Write and edit pieces.
  • Proofread and check articles for accuracy.
  • Suggest possible sources and improvements for pieces.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience in a similar role.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • In-depth knowledge of the publication process and best practices.
  • Comfortable with working remotely.
  • A team player with exceptional communication skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work under moderate pressure and looming deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or a related field is NOT required but is a PLUS.
